SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface treated should be clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, oil, grease curing compounds, mold release agents, paints, etc. all major cracks to be opened in “V” shape and repaired with crack heal or patch range of crack fillers and repair mortars. Honeycomb or spalled concrete to be repaired with a suitable repair mortar form the patch range of Ressichem Repair mortars. Nail heads and other protrusions that are likely to damage the coating must be removed. Porous surfaces should be primed using Water Guard 247 diluted with 15-20% clean water.
APPLICATION
Water Guard 247 is to be stirred well before use. It can be applied to the prepared surface using brush, roller, or squeegee. Replace lid of containers when not in use. As damp-proof membrane and vapor barrier 2 coats of Water Guard 247 is recommended. Apply the first coat at a thickness between 200 to 500 microns. Allow a minimum of 4 hours between first coat and second coat. The second coat should be applied at right angles at 200 to 500 microns thickness.
Where the surface is to receive a plaster finish, render or screed, ‘grit’ the second coat with clean, dry sand to form a keyed surface. Allow a minimum of 7 days drying period before applying a plaster, render or floor screed. As a curing compound one coat of Guard 247 is sufficient. This can be applied on the green concrete. This would prevent rapid evaporation of water and formation of shrinkage cracks. If Water Guard 247 is spray applied, consistency of the material can be adjusted by adding water.
CURING
Once the application is completed, Water Guard 247 should be air cured for a minimum period of 7 days.
PACKAGING
This is available in 20 Ltr buckets and 200 Ltr drums.
