SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure that the blocks are clean, sound, and free of loose materials before commencing laying. If a support is used for the laying of bricks or blocks, ensure that it is free from dust, oil, grease, or any other material which may cause debonding. It is strongly recommended to avoid humidity arising applied on foundations by protecting the substrate by using a suitable waterproofing system. A variety of different waterproofing systems can also be recommended by Ressichem.
PRODUCT PREPARATION
For proper mixing, it is important that water is premeasured in accordance with the amount of material used. The mortar powder should be added over the water to avoid the settlement of the material at the bottom of the mixing container. The mixing container should be uncontaminated, non-corrosive and clean. Only potable water should be used for mixing. It is also recommended that material should be mechanically mixed with a mortar mixer or other mechanical mixing methods to obtain a consistent lump free mix.
APPLICATION
Ressi BLM 510 is specifically designed to adhere to the code of applications as prescribed in BS 5628. The correct alignment of the first row is of the utmost importance and must be ensured. Using an appropriate trowels and tools, spread an appropriate layer of the mortar over the entire contact surface. Ensure that the blocks are correctly aligned. Remove all excess mortar prior to hardening. It is important to allow a suitable gap between the wall and the slab to avoid cracks forming. Ressi BLM 510 is also ideal for laying bricks and blocks as per the specification of various wall waterproofing systems as prescribed in various systems of Ressichem systems.
