SURFACE PREPARATION
All loose particles, dust, and oil must be removed from the surface prior to application. In hot climatic conditions, the surface may be lightly dampened using potable water. Ressi TA 210 Plus can be applied on most cementitious substrates such as blockwork, concrete, and rough plastered surfaces.
The surface should be sufficiently aged (minimum 7 days for newly erected masonry and freshly plastered surfaces) before tile installation begins. Expansion joints should not be tiled over and must be treated appropriately. Highly absorbent surfaces should be dampened prior to spreading the adhesive. Defective or unsound substrates must be repaired beforehand. Ensure that the backs of the tiles are free from dust to avoid hollow sounds and poor adhesion.
PRODUCT PREPARATION
Water should be pre-measured according to the quantity of material being used. The mortar powder must be added gradually to the water to prevent settlement at the bottom of the mixing container. The mixing container should be clean, non-corrosive, and free from contaminants. Only potable water should be used.
Mechanical mixing using a mortar mixer or suitable mechanical method is recommended to achieve a smooth, lump-free, and consistent mix.
APPLICATION
Buttering the adhesive onto the back of tiles is generally not recommended, as it may result in poor adhesion. Spread the adhesive evenly onto the substrate using a suitable straight-edge trowel and notch immediately.
To ensure proper bonding, it is recommended not to spread the adhesive over an area greater than 1 m2 at a time, as premature drying may occur. After spreading and leveling the mortar, tiles should be firmly pressed and tapped into position. Tile adjustment should be completed within a maximum of 20 minutes after application.
