Ressi Powder Release is ready to use, streak free and powder formulated to be easily applied onto the surface of colored or plain concrete.

Ressi Powder Release is a finely powdered material produced by a proprietary manufacturing and inter-grinding process. Powder Release is light and fast, blended with high-speed dispersing equipment. It is element-resistant and free from fillers or extenders. The coloring agents are lime-proof and have maximum resistance to the effects of sunlight (UV).

    APPLICATION

Ressi Powder Release is broadcast over the surface of freshly placed colored-concrete floors, before imprinting with stamps or other texturing tools or rollers. It forms a bond-breaking barrier that helps prevent the tools from sticking to the fresh concrete and damaging its fragile surface.

During the process, a portion of the colored antiquing release becomes embedded in the surface, where it is trapped by the hardening concrete. When the surface is subsequently washed and sealed, an attractive, variegated, mottled, and antiqued appearance is obtained, with colors ranging from that of the underlying concrete to that of the antiquing release, with mixtures of the two most likely.

    PROPERTIES

    • Easy application.
    • Streak free, non-fading.
    • Prevents concrete build up on tools.
    • Moisture resistant.

    SUB BASE PREPARATION

The sub-base should be well drained and have adequate and uniform load bearing characteristics. To reduce the likelihood of cracking, the sub-base must be graded to ensure an even thickness of concrete. ‘At the time of concrete placement, the sub-base must be moist but have no standing water and should be well consolidated and frost-free. If necessary, the sub-base should be dampened with water in advance of concreting, to avoid uneven suction and premature drying out of the underside of the slab.

    CUATION

CALCIUM CHLORIDE AND/OR CALCIUM CHLORIDE BASED PRODUCTS AND ADMIXTURES MUST NEVER BE USED WITH OR IN COLOURED CONCRETE. In cooler weather a non-chloride accelerator may be used.

    APPLICATION

Ressi Powder Release is specially formulated for use with stamped concrete. We recommend it to be used in conjunction with Ressi Pigmented Hardener, and with a suitable Ressichem sealer.

Immediately prior to imprinting. Ressi Powder Release should be hand-broadcast evenly across the surface by the dry shake method, normally in one broadcasting operation (shake).

After the concrete has achieved an initial set, as soon as the next day in hot climates and a maximum of 10 days in cold climates, the release agent may be removed with pressure rinsing with a high-power pressure rinse and cleaner.

    LIMITATION

Ressi Powder Release should not be used as the primary coloring method. It should only be used as a secondary color to antique the color surface hardener.

    COLOR

This is available in many different colors, shown on the Ressichem color charts.

    COVERAGE

Ressi Powder Release has an average coverage rate of 20 KG (1 Bag) per 145m².

    PACKAGING

Ressi Powder Release is packaged in convenient 20 KG moisture resistant bags. This type of packaging makes storage and transportation quicker and cleaner with little or no damage to the product.

    SHELF LIFE

Ressi Powder Release should be kept in a safe place and the seal should not be broken until use. Shelf life is approximately 12 months in dry sheltered warehouse conditions. High levels of moisture and humidity will reduce shelf life.
