Anticorrosive Epoxy Primer for C3 Medium Corrosivity Environments

Ressi EPO Prime – Urban Mastic is a high-performance, two-component anticorrosive epoxy primer specially formulated for C3 medium corrosivity environments as defined in ISO 12944. Designed for protection of steel structures exposed to humidity, salinity, and condensation, it provides excellent adhesion, moisture resistance, and durable corrosion protection.

This primer contains active anticorrosive pigments and functional additives that enhance barrier performance and prevent rust formation, even in harsh industrial and coastal conditions. Once cured, it forms a tough, chemically resistant film, providing a strong foundation for intermediate and topcoat layers.

SURFACE PREPARATION

• All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, rust, and other contaminants.
• Abrasive blast cleaning to a minimum of Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1) is recommended.
• If blasting is not possible, mechanical cleaning to St 3 may be used.
• Ensure cleaned surface is free from dust and moisture prior to primer application.

MIXING

Ressi EPO Prime – Urban Mastic is supplied in pre-measured two-component kits.

1. Add the entire contents of Hardener (Part B) to Base (Part A).
2. Mix thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical mixer (300–400 rpm).
3. Avoid air entrapment during mixing.

APPLICATION

• Apply using airless spray, conventional spray, brush, or roller.
• Ensure uniform film thickness and complete coverage.
• Recommended Dry Film Thickness (DFT): 100–120 microns per coat
• Apply subsequent coats once primer is dry to touch and within the specified overcoating interval.

COVERAGE

Approximately 80–100 sq. ft. per kg per coat @ 80–100 microns. Theoretical coverage values are for reference only; actual consumption may vary depending on surface profile and application conditions.

LIMITATIONS

• Working time reduces significantly when temperature exceeds 35°C.
• Correct conditioning is essential during cold weather.
• Do not apply if ambient or substrate temperature falls below 10°C.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The packed material is regarded as non-hazardous for transportation. Once opened, extreme temperatures may cause flammability. Do not reuse containers. Dispose packaging as per local regulations. Gloves and suitable masks should be worn during application. Refer to MSDS for further health and safety information.
