Ressi EPO Mid Coat F - GP
A general-purpose high strength and high impact resistant mid coat epoxy. This Epoxy system is highly suitable to build up epoxy thickness of flooring systems where a low-cost system is required. This solvent free epoxy system is based on a modified bisphenol A Based Epoxy system and a Phenelkamine based hardener. Comprises of special fine aggregates designed to achieve a Epoxy mid coat to a thickness between 500 microns and 2mm.
Ressi EPO Mid Coat F – GP
General Purpose Fine Aggregate-Based Epoxy Mid Coat
Ressi EPO Mid Coat F – GP is a general-purpose, high-strength, and high-impact-resistant mid coat epoxy. It is ideal for building up epoxy thickness in flooring systems where a low-cost solution is required. This solvent-free epoxy system is based on modified Bisphenol-A epoxy and Phenalkamine hardener, containing special fine aggregates to achieve a coating thickness between 500 microns and 2mm. It is also suitable for a range of materials including metal, wood, ceramic, concrete, textile, glass, and leather.
ADVANTAGES
- High Strength and Durability: Provides excellent compressive and tensile strength for heavy-duty applications.
- Impact Resistance: Withstands mechanical impacts and vibrations from industrial machinery.
- Cost-Effective Solution: Offers reliable performance at a lower cost than premium systems.
- Solvent-Free Composition: Reduces VOC emissions, making it safe and environmentally friendly.
- Enhanced Adhesion and Cohesion: Modified Bisphenol-A epoxy and Phenalkamine hardener provide superior bonding and cohesive strength.
- Improved Chemical Resistance: Resists oils, fuels, and mild solvents commonly found in industrial settings.
- Special Aggregate Enhancement: Fine silica aggregates increase hardness, wear resistance, and surface toughness.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for both industrial and commercial flooring systems.
- Uniform Thickness Build-Up: Allows consistent coating thickness for optimal performance.
- Fast Curing and Efficiency: The Phenalkamine hardener accelerates curing, reducing downtime.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, laitance, and loose concrete. Use mechanical preparation such as shot blasting, scarifying, or grinding to achieve a sound substrate. Degrease oily surfaces with a suitable chemical degreaser before preparation. Repair cracks or holes using Ressi EPO Crack Fill. Ensure concrete is at least 28 days old and has moisture content below 4%. Carry expansion, control, and isolation joints through the floor and fill them with appropriate joint treatment. Prime the surface with a suitable epoxy primer from the Ressichem range.
PRIMING
Apply Ressi EPO Primer or an equivalent primer using a stiff brush or roller. Allow it to become tacky (10–20 minutes) before applying Ressi EPO Mid Coat F – GP. If the primer dries completely, apply another coat and wait until tacky before proceeding.
MIXING
Stir base (Part A) and hardener (Part B) separately. Add filler (Part C) gradually to the base/hardener mixture and mix until homogeneous using a low-speed drill (400–600 rpm). Mix for 3–7 minutes until a consistent and uniform material is obtained.
APPLICATION
Apply Ressi EPO Mid Coat F – GP while the primer is still tacky. Spread with a notched trowel to achieve a uniform thickness between 500 microns and 2mm. Level with a spiked roller to eliminate air bubbles and ensure an even finish.
LIMITATIONS
At higher temperatures, pot life is reduced. For temperatures below 10°C, warm materials in a hot water bath. The recommended application temperature range is between 15°C and 35°C.
