ADVANTAGES
- Can be applied to freshly hardened concrete.
- Excellent elongation and flexibility.
- Exhibits crack bridging and sealing property.
- Protection against carbonation and chlorides.
- Excellent adhesion.
- Easy to apply.
- Increased frost and salt resistance.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface should be cleaned and sound, free from dust, loose particles, grease, oil, primers, from Previous membrane systems or bitumen. Bitumen or primers should be removed by shot blasting or mechanical means. Spalled concrete should be repaired by cutting to sound Concrete and patching with Polymer modified mortars. There are a variety of repairing mortars and crack fillers available in Ressichem Patch and Crack Heal range for the repairing of a variety of different surfaces. It is recommended to use polymer coated tape (Construction Grade) at all critical areas such as intersections, corner joints, floor/wall junctions, gaps, peripheral areas, or pipelines before the application of Rain Shield 1810. Prior to fixing the polymer coated tape, gaps and corners should be filled and leveled with an appropriate polymer modified Grout from the Ressichem range of products.
APPLICATION
Saturate the concrete surface with clean water. Apply the first coat while the surface is still damp with no free-standing water. Apply using a short stiff bristle brush or roller at a minimum thickness of 120 micron per coat. After 2-3 hours, apply the second coat in perpendicular direction to the first coat (If the first coat has been applied in top to bottom direction, the second coat should be applied in left to right direction and vice versa). Spray or trowel application is acceptable provided the mixing ratio is adjusted to achieve the right consistency.
CURING
Rain Shield 1810 should be protected from high wind, direct sunshine, and rain until fully cured.
SHELF LIFE
Expiration of Rain Shield 1810 is 12 months after production date under dry and sheltered conditions.
PACK SIZE
Rain Shield 1810 is available in 20 KG Buckets.
