Ressi Insufix 201 is a fine aggregate-based adhesive and finishing mortar specifically designed for use in External Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS). It is formulated to provide excellent adhesion to expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation boards while also serving as a smooth finishing layer for reinforced insulation systems. In addition to its bonding capabilities, Ressi Insufix 201 is ideally suited for top coat applications over reinforced base layers incorporating fiberglass mesh. Its fine particle composition enables the development of a smooth, uniform surface, making it suitable for subsequent decorative finishes such as paint, wallpaper, or other thin coating systems. The product is compatible with standard cementitious substrates including concrete, masonry, plasters, and renders.

MIXING
It is important that water is pre-measured in accordance with the quantity of material being mixed. The recommended water dosage is provided in the Technical Data section of this datasheet. The powder should always be added to water to prevent settlement at the bottom of the mixing container. Mixing should be carried out in a clean, non-corrosive, and uncontaminated container using potable water only. Mechanical mixing using a mortar mixer or a suitable drill with paddle attachment is recommended to achieve a uniform, lump-free consistency.
APPLICATION
Ressi Insufix 201 shall be applied onto a sound, clean, and properly levelled cementitious substrate, such as external cement-based plasters. The receiving surface intended for bonding expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation boards should preferably have a slightly rough texture to ensure optimal mechanical adhesion.
It is recommended that Ressi Insufix 201 be applied over a levelled premix plaster conforming to BS EN 998-1, CS III or above, such as Ressi PlastoRend 120 or other Ressichem-recommended premix plaster systems. The plastered surface must be adequately cured, free from surface laitance, and exhibit controlled residual moisture with sufficient surface absorption.
In hot climatic conditions, particularly when ambient temperatures exceed 40°C, light water dabbing of the dry plaster surface may be carried out prior to application to reduce substrate temperature and enhance adhesive performance.
After proper mixing, Ressi Insufix 201 shall be applied uniformly to the EPS insulation boards as well as to the receiving substrate. The boards are then fixed onto the cementitious surface, including concrete, masonry, or plastered backgrounds. Care must be taken to ensure full adhesive coverage, avoiding voids or unbonded areas between the insulation board and substrate.
Once the EPS insulation boards are correctly installed and aligned, Ressi Insufix 201 is also used for embedding the fiberglass reinforcing mesh over the insulation surface. The mesh is subsequently rendered and levelled as part of the insulation build-up.
For detailed system configurations and application procedures, please refer to the Ressichem Insulation Systems Brochure and the EIFS solutions recommended by Ressichem.
SHELF LIFE
Expiration of Ressi Insufix 201 is at 12 months after production date under dry and sheltered conditions. Keep Away from Humid Environment to avoid lump formation.
